Computational Designer

Common and Baseline Responsibilities of a Computational Designer:

  • Participates with integrated design teams on the development of conceptual strategies, design criteria as well as discover opportunities for applied research and innovative process. Acts as an ongoing consultant to ensure success.
  • Ensures quality assurance with project teams to maintain modeling quality and fidelity, adherence to firmwide modeling and information workflows, and continuity of information across applications.
  • Collaborates with marketing and Client Engagement Leaders to create new business and/or further existing engagements.

  • Participates in AEC Forums, User Groups, and Conferences demonstrating Perkins&Will's leadership in Design, Digital Practice, Digital Transformation, AEC Technology…..
  • Proactively maintains and communicates current knowledge relative to design, delivery, and research, cultivating a culture of innovation.
  • Experience in all phases of the architectural design process as well as commitment and passion for learning new design application technologies and strategies.
  • Strong communication skills; written, oral and graphic representation.
  • General aptitude and comfort level with training and technical support, both one-on-one and in-group settings.
  • Collaborates and reports to the appropriate leadership.

Requirements

To join us, you should have:

Typical Years of Requisite Experience: 5+ years

High-level Summary of Critical, Baseline Technical Skills and Certifications

Proficiencies

  • Proficiency in Web Development and Programming Languages, such as React, Javascript, Threejs, C#, and Python
  • Knowledge of ArcGIS and digital fabrication techniques

Software

  • Strong knowledge of Python.
  • High-level of proficiency leveraging Revit, Rhino, Grasshopper and other applications in Perkins&Will's design technology suite in the architectural design & delivery process
  • Advanced proficiency with software skills on projects, such as Visualization, Computational Design, and Environmental Analysis applications

Licensure/Certifications/Education

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture, Computational Design, Computer Science, or a related field
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire

Salary and Benefit Information

At the time of posting this job advertisement, commensurate with qualifications, the annual pay salary range for this position in Minneapolis is between $89,500 and $119,200.
