Landscape Designer I

You'll work across the full design process: developing sketches and renderings, building out construction documents, running computational models, and contributing to presentations that actually win hearts in the room. You'll be involved in design reviews, charrettes, and pin-ups early on. You'll coordinate with consultants, ask hard questions, and push ideas forward alongside people who take the craft seriously. This isn't a "sit in the corner and draft" role. We want you curious, vocal, and invested in the work.

What we're looking for:

  • A bachelor's degree in landscape architecture or a related field
  • 1–3 years of experience
  • Working knowledge of 2D/3D production tools; comfort with Rhino, Grasshopper, Revit, and visualization software like Enscape or V-Ray is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with site analysis, environmental analysis tools (Ladybug, Climate Studio), and physical modeling
  • Active pursuit of your LARE, and at least one living design accreditation on your radar — LEED AP, WELL AP, SITES AP, Passive House, ILFI, or similar

Beyond the technical: you communicate ideas in a way that moves people. You're organized under pressure, honest about what you don't know, and genuinely excited about where the industry is heading.

What's here for you:

Perkins&Will is a global firm with over 2,800 people doing serious work in architecture, interiors, urban design, and landscape. Our San Francisco studio is a tight, collaborative team where you'll get real exposure to complex projects and real mentorship — not just tasks handed down a chain.

Apply if you believe the built environment can — and should — do better. Want to make your application memorable? Show us how you think — a portfolio, a sketch, a site analysis you're proud of. We're looking for perspective, not just credentials. Include all materials as a.pdf under 4MB.

What You'll Get:

  • Salary range: $68,500–$176,100, commensurate with experience, education and skillset.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) retirement plan and paid time off
  • Professional development stipend and dedicated continuing education time
  • Performance-based bonuses
  • Access to firmwide affinity groups and leadership development programs
  • Studio initiatives and events; a team that actually likes each other

Our Commitment:

Our culture is grounded in a firmwide commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) — not as a tagline, but as how we hire, promote, and build teams.
