Position Overview:

Provide management with financial information and analysis. Safeguard the company's assets in accordance with Corporate and Division policy and generally accepted accounting principles. Prepare financial statements and management reports

Responsibilities

  • Refresh and review weekly sales reporting.
  • Prepare journal entries including interest allocation, builder risk accrual, quarterly rebate accrual, intercompany entries, quarterly accrual entries, and other period expenses
  • Review monthly architecture file and book any needed entries
  • Record ACH payments as needed
  • Consolidate and submit land bank billings monthly
  • Confirm receipt of land bank fundings monthly
  • Prepare monthly reports such as spec aging, finished homes in backlog, lot stat, and can rate details
  • Review customer deposit report and provided necessary footnotes
  • Set up lots in Nav as requested
  • Reconcile operating bank accounts
  • Record land purchase and change status of lots purchased
  • Maintain fixed asset information in BNA, record depreciation, and dispose of assets as needed
  • Retain appropriate documents for audit purposes and fulfill audit requests
  • Reconcile and prepare balance sheet recs for various accounts including Prepaid other and Preacquisition accounts
  • Prepare financial reporting schedules and additional quarterly schedules
  • Maintain accounting records and files
  • Provide information to audit requests as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years of professional accounting experience.
  • Previous homebuilding experience preferred
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and cost accounting
  • High degree of computer literacy, including advanced Excel
  • Ability to meet deadlines in stressful situations
  • Knowledge of business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with both internal and external customers, both orally and in writing

Typical Physical and Mental Demands:

  • Must be able to read, write, and speak fluently in English.
  • Employees in the position are required to be able to hear and have sufficient vision to utilize all office equipment.
  • Use of hands and fingers is required to utilize standard office equipment.
  • Requires occasional lifting to 20 pounds.

Working Conditions:
