Architectural Designer – Essex, MA

We are seeking an experienced Residential Architectural Designer for a full-time position with an award-winning, integrated architecture and construction firm in our Essex location. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of drafting experience in architecture using ArchiCAD or similar software. Working under the direction of the Project Architect, this position is responsible for the preparation of architectural design drawings, construction documents and details. Success in this role is defined as a clear understanding of the needs of the construction personnel, evidenced by the production of clear, organized and comprehensive construction documents and details for multiple, concurrent, residential architectural projects.

Responsibilities:

• 5+ Years of experience in an architecture office, or related position, preferably in residential design
• Understanding of wood-framed residential construction means and methods
• Ability to excel in an open, team-based work environment and work under direction to contribute towards construction document preparation
• Familiarity with and enthusiasm for the highest levels of architectural design including changes and innovations in construction methods, materials, products, and practices
• Appreciation of hands-on construction and enthusiastic endorsement of C&M design-build delivery model
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Skilled CAD user (ArchiCAD a plus)
• Tech Savvy – PC and mobile platforms, plus Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe (a plus)
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in architecture/architectural design
• Continuously pursue professional education and personal enrichment to enhance ability to participate as a team member on unique and complex design projects
