As a Gensler Architectural Designer, you will support the Design Director in the creation and development of overall design concepts. As a member of this team, you will be asked to collaborate with a diverse team of designers, architects, strategists, brand designers, etc., and participate in all phases of the project.
What You Will Do
- Support the Design Director and Senior Designer in the creation and development of overall design concepts.
- Formulate design presentation strategies.
- Provide creative and process leadership to multiple design teams through all phases of the project.
- Work in a team environment and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on varying project types.
- Collaborate on all phases of the project including programming, project strategy, client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, consultant coordination, construction documents, construction administration, and management of budgets and schedules.
- Coordinate with all team members on the delivery of project milestones.
- Contribute to the production of plans, elevations, details, specifications, and material selections needed for construction.
- Generate finish plans, specifications, and material selections.
- Provide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of design concepts.
- Work with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, contractors, fabricators, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives.
- Clearly communicate your design ideas to the project team.
- Participate and contribute to office and firm culture.
- Assist in managing client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination.
- Establish and maintain ongoing, productive client relationships.
- Utilize hand rendering techniques to communicate design concepts a plus.
- Work in a synergistic manner with other design and professional staff.
Your Qualifications
- Bachelor of Architecture
- 3+ years of architectural design experience
- 5+ years of project experience in an architectural practice
- Knowledge of Revit required, as well as AutoCAD, 3D Studio Max, SketchUp, Rhino, Grasshopper, Adobe Suite
- Previous experience creating and developing overall design concepts and formulating design presentation strategies
- Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience
- 100% bilingual in English/Spanish; excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Outstanding graphic presentation skills
- Knowledge of building codes, standards, and building structures
- Proven fiscal accountability and responsibility on projects
- Must have the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relationships
