Design Role at Gensler

At Gensler, design is not just what we do—it's who we are. We're looking for a highly creative and strategic designer to partner with our Regional Managing Principal (RMP) team in shaping impactful presentation decks and communication materials. This role goes beyond design—it's about storytelling, message-building, and transforming complex ideas into compelling visual and verbal narratives that inspire confidence and clarity.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborate directly with Regional Managing Principals to design and deliver high-impact presentation decks, reports, and branded communications that connect strategy to story.
  • Conduct research and gather context to understand the organizational, cultural, and business drivers behind each project.
  • Translate abstract concepts into thoughtful, documented design solutions that resonate with diverse audiences—generating multiple initial ideas and refining through collaboration and feedback.
  • Integrate messaging, imagery, typography, and composition to build brand-forward materials across print, digital, and presentation platforms.
  • Prepare polished, production-ready artwork and documentation for presentations and collateral.
  • Contribute to all phases of communication design, from concepting, design development, refinement, through to finalization.
  • Handle all communications and materials with a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and sensitivity.
  • Beyond supporting the RMP team, collaborate with HR, Finance, Marketing, and Talent Development to bring clarity and creativity to internal initiatives, while prioritizing RMP projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of architects, designers, and business leaders, balancing input and ensuring clarity and alignment with Gensler's brand voice.

Expectations

  • Deliver thoughtful, creative, and sophisticated communications and design solutions that meet expectations for quality, timeliness, and impact.
  • Build trusted relationships with leaders and colleagues across the firm.
  • Engage with curiosity and collaboration—ask questions, seek input, and draw inspiration from Gensler's diverse portfolio of work.
  • Trusted to manage sensitive information with discretion, maintaining a high level of confidentiality.
  • Represent Gensler's One-Firm-Firm values: collaboration, entrepreneurial spirit, client focus, ethics, and fun.
  • Contribute to our culture of creativity and design excellence, elevating both the message and the medium.

Your Qualifications

  • Hands-on designer and storyteller with a strong visual eye and a passion for crafting compelling narratives.
  • Confident communicator who can simplify complex ideas into clear, powerful visual and verbal messages.
  • Flexible and thoughtful; able to view challenges from multiple perspectives and adapt designs accordingly.
  • Collaborative partner who values feedback, iteration, and collective design excellence over ego.
  • Strong time management skills; able to prioritize executive deliverables while managing parallel team projects.
  • Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop), PowerPoint/Keynote, and MS Office.
  • Familiarity with motion graphics, video editing, or interactive design a plus.
  • 8-13 years of relevant experience.

To be considered, please submit your resume along with a portfolio that showcases your ability to translate information into thoughtful, compelling design solutions.
