Interactive Experience Design Lead
Interactive Experience Design Lead(s) (full-time, multiple openings) needed in San Francisco, CA to consult with client teams and end-users to determine functional, operational and spatial requirements and parameters that will guide interaction design solutions and interactive guideline platforms for the built environment and adjacent design efforts while integrating with the other aspects of complex design projects to meet overall project goals. Lead teams through a phased process to develop user experience and interaction design, utilizing data collection and analysis, persona development, user journey mapping, flow-diagrams, visualizations, digital prototyping and user testing for a variety of interactive applications including web and mobile application design, augmented reality, and virtual reality experiences. Collaborate and communicate with design teams, clients, consultants, vendors, and developers to ensure compliance with design intent and advise on corrections as part of production/implementation oversight for interaction design projects. Support the business growth of the interactive experience design practice, developing client relationships, proposals and team development.
Must have a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Interaction Design, or related field, plus two (2) years of design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship) with all of the following:
- Evolve visual, interactive and experiential concepts from sketches to viable, documented design solutions including three-dimensional, time-based forms of representation (diagrams, drawings, animated visualizations) using the following tools: Figma, Rhino, Unity, Unreal, Revit, Enscape, Touch Designer, and After Effects;
- Prototype and evaluate physical designs and interactive environments that bridge physical and digital experiences engaging users for industries including financial services, technology, consumer products, professional services, and sciences. Use tools including Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Mixed Reality applications, projection mapping; and conduct user testing and heuristic analysis of the prototypes built with Invision, Figma, and Sketch;
- Incorporate AI generative tools including Midjourney, Stable Diffusion, and RunwayML as part of bleeding-edge design process in spatial and experiential design;
- Deliver and communicate design intent to clients for corporate workplace/retail guidelines using interactive digital platforms (web and app-based) for financial services, technology, consumer products, professional services, law firm and science clients, in collaboration with workplace strategists, interior design and technical teams, client real estate and design teams, and external partners including fabricators, AV integrators, lighting designers, and acoustical engineers;
- Develop designs for and provide QA/QC and implementation oversight of internal technical programming teams, and external partners including fabricators, AV integrators, lighting designers and provide QA/QC during final implementation to ensure design intent is maintained;
- Work experience with interior and architectural design standards for space programming, finishes, products, furniture, technology, technical equipment and detailing, including working knowledge of architectural plans and specifications; AND
- Work experience with user-centric design processes and methodologies to create product prototypes and generate Design Language Systems. Direct user experience data collection and analysis, development of user personas and archetypes in relation to unique and holistic user journeys, modes of human-to-computer interaction, and user experience (UX) flow diagrams, and facilitate user feedback studies to enhance the value of the experiences.
In the alternative, we will accept a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Interaction Design, or related field, plus five (5) years of progressive post-bachelor's degree related design experience (non-intern, non-fellowship).
