Job Title

Strong conceptual design skills, multi-scale systems thinking, passionate about creating and building projects with positive impact on communities and the environment with interdisciplinary collaboration. Contributes and assists in developing design solutions to advance projects while working independently with guidance from senior leadership. Eager to learn and innovate through both in-depth research and creative design. A systems thinker who performs design and technical tasks requiring application of environmental design ideas and knowledge of passive design first principles.

Responsibilities

Provides creative 3D conceptual ideas that freely explore nature first and human focus design with interdisciplinary collaboration, exhibits initiative, interest in innovation and problem solving in design.

Provides strong conceptual and diagramming skills, creative ability to distill complex ideas into simple-to-understand design, integrating site, environmental and community resources.

Collaborates with the design team on ideation, design and technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of in-house and client-facing project deliverables.

Participates in the concept, ideation, production and facilitation of internal and client-facing integrated design charette/workshops.

Represents design ideas and prepare implementation documents, applying innovative graphic techniques and according to written and verbal specifications with general supervision.

Assists in preparing client presentations and presents project's regenerative design intent.

Performs product research; assists project designers with material selection and system research.

May support research of code and zoning requirements while utilizing basic knowledge of LEED, WELL and LBC.

May attend on-site visits, field reviews and client and/or project meetings and documents these visits as appropriate.

Exhibits intermediate level knowledge of building materials, codes and systems.

Utilizes effective visual and verbal communication skills to collaborate with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design, and documents as needed.

Provides guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriate.

Participates in team meetings to discuss project progress, design and technical issues and coordination with other disciplines.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Accredited professional degree in Architecture or related field required

Typically 2-5+ years of experience

Licenses and Certifications

Actively pursuing Architectural registrations preferred

Sustainable design accreditation preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Intermediate experience and skills in Revit, Bluebeam, Rhino, Grasshopper, Twinmotion, Enscape or other computational design and visualization tools required

Intermediate experience in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign required

Basic knowledge of Ladybug, Forma or other environmental tools preferred

Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite required

Intermediate knowledge of sustainability and regenerative design guidelines required

Intermediate presentation, graphic and visualization skills to communicate ideas

Intermediate knowledge of materials, construction techniques, building codes and QA/QC process required

Intermediate ability to communicate in a clear, concise and professional manner both verbally and in writing required

Basic ability to problem solve and collaborate on innovative solutions required; intermediate is preferred

Intermediate ability to work in a team and collaborative environment required

Intermediate ability to work on multiple projects at the same time required

Intermediate ability to effectively meet deadlines at expected quality required

Travel may be required
