Overview:
Responsibilities:
Modify or create implementation documents, applying standard architectural techniques and procedures, according to written and verbal specifications with general supervision
Collaborate on design and technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project
Assist in preparing client presentations and present project design intent
Perform product research; and assist project designers with material selection and system research
May support research of code and zoning requirements
May attend on-site visits, field reviews and client and/or project meetings and documents these visits as appropriate
Assist in preparing schedules and reviewing implementation documents and samples as needed
Communicate with other disciplines, vendors and contractors to incorporate information into design, project requirements and documents as needed
Provide guidance and direction to entry-level staff as appropriate
Participate in team meetings to discuss project issues, design and technical issues and coordination with other disciplines
Perform work in a manner that demonstrates an awareness of and an appreciation for the firm's cultural values, including a commitment to quality, innovation, learning and growth
Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team
Promote the firm's principles of 'design excellence' through the integration of responsible and sustainable design practice with the art of design
Recognize the financial aspect of a project and basic accounting principles involved in the project's and firm's profitability
Understand the financial implications of overhead and chargeable time, including accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate
Understand the importance of growing and maintaining client relationships and the basic concept of business development
Assist in pursuit of new design job opportunities either through relationship development or identifying additional work from existing clients
Work with design materials, construction techniques, building codes, and quality control procedures
Use Autodesk Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, Adobe InDesign software, and three-dimensional computer visualization software tools; as well as Word, Excel and PowerPoint software for creating writing
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Architecture, or a related field, and 2 years of experience in the job offered or as an Architect, Design Professional, or in a related/similar position
Experience therein to include 2 years of experience in architectural design and documentation, and using Autodesk Revit, Adobe Photoshop, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, Adobe InDesign software, and three-dimensional computer visualization software tools
2 years of experience working with design materials, building codes, and quality control procedures
2 years of experience in creative writing using Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
2 years of experience working with team-based project delivery methods. Experience therein to include sustainability and integrative design.
