  • Cultivate client relationships – Serve as the primary client liaison, building trust and long-term strategic partnerships that generate repeat business and referrals
  • Drive fiscal accountability – Lead decision-making with full financial responsibility, managing project budgets, schedules, and profitability targets
  • Strategize and execute – Develop comprehensive project work plans that balance design ambition with operational realities
  • Contribute to business growth – Participate in proposal development, client presentations, interviews, and strategic business development initiatives
  • Ensure seamless communication – Oversee all project correspondence, reports, documentation, and administrative functions
  • Solve complex challenges – Apply deep knowledge of interior architecture and design principles to navigate technical, programmatic, and logistical complexities
  • Negotiate and manage contracts – Draft, review, and negotiate client and consultant agreements
  • Collaborate firm-wide – Partner across NBBJ studios and disciplines to leverage diverse expertise and expand opportunities
  • Expand your network – Develop and leverage client relationships to win new work and position NBBJ as the partner of choice

What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience: 10-15 years of professional experience in Interior Design or Interior Architecture, with demonstrated success managing large-scale, complex projects for industry-leading clients
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • Location: Ability to work in-person at NBBJ's Seattle office
  • Credentials: NCIDQ Certification strongly preferred; LEED Accreditation required (or obtained within 18 months of hire)
  • Project expertise : Proven track record managing projects through all phases—from pre-design through construction administration—including contract negotiation, work plan development, and experience with diverse project delivery methodologies (Design-Build, Design-Bid-Build, IPD, etc.)
  • Leadership excellence: Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire teams, manage client expectations, and build lasting relationships
  • Technical proficiency: Strong skills in Microsoft suite (Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint); knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, SketchUp, Rhino, or 3DS Max highly desired; 3D modeling experience a plus
  • Organizational mastery: Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects with competing priorities and tight deadlines while maintaining quality and attention to detail
  • Collaborative mindset: Comfort working in a fast-paced, collaborative, design-focused environment with diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel as project needs require
  • Design passion: Genuine enthusiasm for interior design and commitment to staying current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable design practices

The annual base pay range for this role is anticipated to be between $90,000 and $125,000.
